We have just been passed this press release from the “No Tesco in Stokes Croft” campaign from Claire Milne.
Campaign Update!
Bailiffs arrived to evict the Tesco squatters at about 10 am today, 16th March. A large Police presence including at least six Mounted Police arrived to ensure public order.
Mystery still surrounds the disappearance of Jamie Gillman’s flowers… The most likely suspect is still one of the departments of Bristol City Council, though thus far, nobody is owning up to it… If you have any inside information, please contact us

I would like to express my anger and disappointment at the news of Chris Chalkley being found guilty of criminal damage regarding the sign he painted onto the 5102 building.
Chris Chalkley stood trial on Friday 12th March, 2010, accused of criminal damage, having painted a sign that said “Welcome to Stokes Croft, Cultural Quarter, Conservation area, Outdoor Gallery” on the front of the 5102 building, which is a gated community at the bottom of Stokes Croft.
