Stokes Croft hosts its first ever fashion show this Sunday. Organised by the inestimable Gilly Woo, whose corsetry and bespoke dressmaking is based in the heart of Stokes Croft, the show will highlight the creativity that resides in the area.
Dave “Steamer”, one of the crew that run the Lakota, tells us that they now have a two year lease on the property.
Jesters Comedy Club will be reborn as Metropolis, with more of a slant towards music and cabaret. This is tremendous news for Stokes Croft, with the splendid former cinema becoming a more active part of the Stokes Croft music scene.
Coexist has been quietly filling its 55, 000 sq. ft. building with artists, and people with a similar vision. “Hamilton House at the heart of Stokes Croft in Bristol is home to Coexist, where art, music, enterprise and innovation cluster as a community rising to the challenges of today and tomorrow.”
From the day Canteen opened its doors, the terrace has been full, with people taking in the sun during the day, and revelling in the long summer evenings.

The massage parlour was written upon last week… Fair enough… However, it had to go, so we tidied it up… Would it not be better if the community received the money that the Council pays the Anti- Graffiti team, and allows us to look after ourselves?
How times change… Stokes Croft can’t seem to keep itself out of the media these days… Last week, the Casualty TV crew filmed around Stokes Croft, and drama ensue on Stokes Croft… Hardly anybody noticed, because these kinds of scenes have been fairly normal over the past years…
