“This piece was something I wanted to paint following the disappointing news at the start of December that the Government would begin bombing Syria.
PRSC’s media studios on Hillgrove St are officially open to the public. PRSC has studio space and hot desks for hire (or in exchange for voluntary work) for filmmakers, artists and media creators who want to make committed and relevant media, but might not otherwise have the equipment or space.
No Gates in Stokes Croft! An Alternative to Corporate Gentrification, with Anna Minton

Stokes Croft is facing the imminent prospect of a gated community with the planned redevelopment of the Carriageworks, with next to no affordable housing and rocketing rents for everyone.
On Friday evening Mayor George Ferguson will unveil “Ursa”, a major new work by Jamie Gillman. Symbolic of the Bottom up approach to regeneration for which Stokes Croft is increasingly renowned, the bear stands on the roof of the men’s toilets in the Bearpit, a potent emblem for the Bearpit and the City.
The Boycott Tesco Mural has been “Got at”.
This is arguably a significant piece of Stokes Croft history. Should it be repaired, or is it time for change?

An Exhibition of ware from Stokes Croft China on the subject of the relationship between our rulers and the People.
At the PRSC New Gallery in Jamaica Street, an exhibition by the Carriage Works Action Group. Opening Night is Thursday March 8 from 6pm-9pm.
The Think Local Boycott Tesco Campaign had a presence at Glastonbury. One of the four pyramids in the Dance Villages was painted by Bristol’s Finest, carrying the message to the gathered hordes.
Despite any concerns that may have been raised, the sale of approximately 1,000 Banksy Molotov posters took place on Saturday May 7th amongst much good humour, and without incident, as several organisations including PRSC, Coexist, Bookfair organisers and Banksy’s people worked together to ensure that all went off peacefully.

It seems entirely appropriate that the whole of Stokes Croft receives this accolade, the optimism to be found in Stokes Croft in stark contrast to the gloom that shrouds the country.
