Scaffolding has just gone up on the former Putterills building on Stokes Croft. Clarke Scaffolding of avonmouth were busy erecting scaffolding.
On March 16th 2010, the day of the “Stokes Croft Riots”, Stokes Croft Postmistress Bushra Randhawa and PRSC Chairman, Chris Chalkley delivered 2270 protest cards to Bristol City Council on behalf of the “No Tesco in Stokes Croft “ Campaign.
This film was shot during the eviction of the squatters at the former Jesters Comedy Club in Cheltenham Road, Bristol on March 16th 2010.

Sofa Riot owner, Joe Wookey is currently refurbishing his shop at the top of Stokes Croft. Having repainted the exterior, Joe intends to remove much of the interior panelling to reveal the original Victorian skylights, thus demonstrating a growing confidence in the future of the area as a centre of excellence, where independent local businesses can thrive.
